Derbyshire CCC reports £187,000 loss
Derbyshire County Cricket Club (DCCC) has reported a loss of £187,000 in its financial results for 2010 - its first deficit since 2005.
The club said alterations to the England and Wales Cricket Board's Performance Related Fee Payment and the football World Cup had made it a "difficult year". However, the club will receive a £300,000 grant from the national governing body in 2011 to assist with further ground improvements.
DCCC chair Don Amott said: "This ECB grant is a timely boost and rich reward for the hard work and vision it took from all concerned to bring the improvements to the ground to fruition. "It certainly puts the 2010 figures into perspective and, crucially, we didn't borrow money in order to make the necessary improvements happen."
