Derbyshire CCC signs new Chesterfield deal
Derbyshire County Cricket Club (DCCC) has announced that it has secured a new five-year deal to stage some of its fixtures at Chesterfield's Queen's Park venue.
The club's last agreement with Chesterfield Borough Council (CBC) ended last summer, but the new deal ensures first class cricket will be held in the town until 2015. DCCC chair Don Amott said: "The partnership over the past five years worked extremely well and we're looking forward with increased enthusiasm to the six day festival in August."
CBC lead member for safe, healthy and active communities David Stone added: "This new five year agreement shows the council's commitment to keeping first class cricket at Queen's Park."
