Destination spa brand Canyon Ranch has opened reservations for stays beginning on 1 November for their newest brand extension, Canyon Ranch Wellness retreatWoodside. The company’s first retreat model sits among the Redwood forest in Woodside, California, near Silicon Valley.

The retreat includes 14 guest rooms in the main retreat lodge encircled by 24 treehouses, and offers 16 acres of grounds designed for self-reflection with lawns and trails throughout.

“According to the Global Wellness Institute, people today spend an average of 90 percent of their time indoors. With Canyon Ranch Wellness Retreat – Woodside, we invite our guests to escape to nature and immerse themselves in the healing and restorative power of the ancient Redwoods,” said Susan Docherty, Canyon Ranch CEO. “The response to our new retreat model has been overwhelmingly positive with an increasing need among guests familiar with our brand as well as those new to Canyon Ranch, to reconnect and recharge. In Woodside, we’ve answered that need with activities like hiking and biking through trails canopied by the forest, an outdoor obstacle course, and serene spaces for reflective moments.”

The 16-acre retreat property, formerly Skylonda Lodge, has been redesigned by Cole Martinez Curtis & Associates. The new aesthetic will embrace the surrounding natural beauty and create connectivity with the outdoors throughout each space, with an aim to develop a deeper sense of place.

The property features inviting guest rooms, an indoor/outdoor training zone, a boutique spa, sauna, an indoor saline pool and whirlpool, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the surrounding beauty from the expansive wraparound decks, labyrinth and grounds. Immersed among the towering Redwoods, with private decks nestled in the forest, luxury treehouses are elevated on stilts so both guest rooms ‘retreat to nature.’

The scenic property combines intimate sizes and singular natural settings with multi-day, intentions-based programmes with the core belief that uniting like-minded people together around specific goals, guiding them with science-backed programming, and inspiring them with non-cookie-cutter destination experiences is a recipe for true change in participants’ lives.

Canyon Ranch Wellness Retreat – Woodside offers a range of multi-day, Canyon Ranch-branded, intention-based Signature Retreat programmes, as well as Featured Retreats that will be hosted by a curated selection of expert guests.

The three Signature Retreats, with rates starting at US$899, include:

● CONNECT: Disconnect to Reconnect

o A new definition of life in balance – defined by you. This four-night, five-day retreat allows guests to immerse themselves in nature, quiet the mind and deeply reconnect with person, place and the self. The Connect retreat embraces creativity while allowing participants to connect with like-minded individuals to discover a great purpose and a deepened passion for life. Guests will engage in activities like forest bathing to engage the senses and establish a deep connection with the outdoors, as well as dedicated reflective time, nurturing activities and focused wellness discussions.

● RECHARGE: Reach your Human Potential o A retreat focused on self-care and building your resiliency arsenal. Recharge allows guests to play hard and challenge their physical abilities during their three-night, four-day stay, while gaining the tools to stay healthier, longer. This stay incorporates restorative treatments, classes and activities such as Tai Chi workshops and outdoor fitness classes.

● RESET:

o Reset offers a solution for guests that need a quick reboot, allowing them to hand-select their own wellness experience, working directly with a Canyon Ranch advisor to create a custom programme that fits their needs.

In addition to these themed retreats, guests will have the ability to select from daily fitness classes, meditation sessions, nature walks, creative expression courses, wellness talks and more, while enjoying the use of The Training Zone gym and The Hearth restaurant.

Specialty treatments at the Canyon Ranch spa, private consultations, testing and assessments with nutritionists, physiologists, spiritual wellness providers and coaches, and other services will also be available to allow for a more customised experience.

The daily rotating menus will include consciously sourced and prepared, plant-forward, market-driven California cuisine with international inspiration.
