Visitors to one of the busiest shopping streets in the heart of London's West End will have the opportunity to experience a prehistoric jungle as part of a new large-scale dinosaur attraction.

Dinosaurs Unleashed will be open to visitors at Parklife Oxford Street until 30 April, boasting 24 life-size animatronic creatures - such as Stegosaurus, Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus rex - among what would have been their natural habitat. Landowner Land Securities has worked in partnership with consultants Progressive Events and Avalon Studios Group on behalf of temporary exhibition firm Tour-Ex to deliver the new attraction.

Dinosaurs Unleashed - devised by Nick Allison of Progressive Events and Gavin Howard of Avalon Studios Group - also includes interactive elements, such as Paint-a-Dinosaur, the Dinosaur Trackway game and a marine interpretation exhibit. Allison, project director at Parklife Oxford Street and director of Progressive Events said: "Dinosaurs Unleashed has been created for all the family in this incredible location and the scale of the encounter, with its fantastic animatronic dinosaurs and Jurassic Forest, provides for a truly unique experience."

Howard, director at Avalon Studios Group, added: "Dinosaurs Unleashed was an incredibly large project to realise in a short time scale but we love a challenge. All the dinosaurs, interactive elements, interpretation, planting and special effects were designed by the combined team at Avalon Studios Group." Image: David Parry/TNR
