ENCAMS launches green key award survey
Environmental charity, Environmental Campaigns (ENCAMS) is currently researching the feasibility of developing a green award scheme for hotels in England, aptly titled, the Green Key Award.
The charity, which is perhaps best known for its ‘Keep Britain Tidy’ campaign, hopes to build on the success the award scheme has had in other European countries.
It is felt the Green Key Award scheme could be an important step towards sustainable tourism and the charity poses the question; are hotels going green?
With more emphasis placed by consumers for demonstrable social, environmental and fair trade activities within this industry this is a very topical issue and many businesses now view social and environmental issues as critical to their overall success.
With this in mind ENCAMS has commissioned a study into awareness and perceptions of sustainable tourism awards within the hotel sector and they welcome contributions from hotels around the UK.
This valuable survey should only take around 10 minutes to complete, however the more information included, the better! Responses would be greatly appreciated from Environmental Policy Officers or Heads of Marketing Campaigns.
