ESPA petitions Euro Parliament
The European Spas Association (ESPA) is campaigning to get tourism back on the agenda of the European Commission, after MEPs voted not to include the topic in the new European Constitution.
The European Convention responsible for drawing up the document has said tourism policies should be decided by individual countries.
ESPA, which represents spa associations across Europe, has responded with the following resolution: “Tourism is the leading economy of the 21st century. As a pan-European policy, tourism and health tourism must be embodied in the work of the European Union.”
This has been sent to ESPA’s member associations, MEPs, national and regional MPs, and members of the Convention. ESPA’s members have also been asked to petition their own parliaments directly.
