Eddie the Eagle combating couch potatoes

Eddie The Eagle Edwards has helped kick-start a campaign to combat couch potato culture this month.

The former Olympic ski jumper officially launched the SolihullActive initiative, which encourages Solihull residents to take up physical activity in line with government targets and the Chief Medical Officer’s five-times-a-week guidelines.

Supported by the council and local primary care trust, the campaign centres around a database which details information on activities and events taking place in schools, community centres, sports grounds, golf courses and private health clubs throughout the area
