Online gym pass provider PayasUgym has continued its busy start to September by adding Everyone Active clubs to its growing network – which comprises more than a third of the UK’s 6,000 gyms.

The news comes just a week after PayasUgym launched its new ‘Fitness Marketplace’, which serves as a convenient search tool for gym users as well as a ‘shop window’ for gym operators to promote the services they offer.

Everyone Active – the trading name for Sports Leisure Management (SLM) – operates leisure centres in partnership with local councils across England, managing 93 leisure venues in partnership with 34 different local authorities nationwide. The company joins fellow local authority partnership operators GLL, Fusion Lifestyle, Freedom Leisure and 1Life in becoming part of the PayasUgym network.

“We are looking forward to working with PayasUgym as part of our wider mandate to get more people involved in health and fitness at our centres,” said regional sales and business manager for Everyone Active Alison Ford. “As an organisation we have always been strong advocates of using technology to increase overall participation in sport and exercise and we see PayasUgym as a good channel to help us achieve this.’”

Meanwhile, there was further good news for PayasUgym on Friday (12 September), when co-founders Jamie Ward and Neil Harmsworth won a place in the prestigious ‘Young Guns 2014’ network, comprised of promising entrepreneurs. The leisure industry is well represented within the Young Guns alumni, with past winners including the likes of Scott Lloyd (Next Generation Fitness Clubs), Ross Marshall & Andrew Harding (SpaBreaks), Tom Valentine (Secret Escapes), Tamara Hill-Norton (Sweaty Betty) and Zef Eisenberg (MaxiMuscle).
