Expansion project underway at Australia's Jamberoo Action Park
Work has now started on the first phase of an AU$11.6m (US$11.6m, EUR9.4m, £7.5m) expansion scheme at Jamberoo Action Park in New South Wales, Australia.
Preliminary work is currently being carried out ahead of the full construction phase, which will lead to the development Kangaroo Island water ride.
Talon Construction Group has been awarded the contract to deliver the first stage, which is also set to include the creation of an interactive play area - one of the largest in Australia.
Tornado water slide, a raft-based ride which loops and twists before dropping into a funnel, completes the line-up of new rides being added. The park is due to reopen in September.
General manager Dax Eddy said: "It's fantastic that construction has finally commenced and we are now in the process of building the most thrilling water ride experiences ever seen in New South Wales."
