The Isle of Mull is a magical location when it comes to natural beauty and wellness

The Isle of Mull Hotel & Spa, part of Crerar Hotels, will reveal its all-new wellness facility called the Driftwood Spa on 5 July 2021.

Located on the picturesque Isle of Mull in West Scotland, the spa will offer panoramic coastal views and is part of the 75-room hotel’s recent £3m (€3.5m, US$4.2m) refurbishment.

The spa's interior design will be clean and calming and draw inspiration from the island’s natural landscape and heritage, including Scottish green tweeds, warm heather tones and crisp white linen.

Facilities will include four treatment rooms – including two for couples, one single treatment room and one seaweed bath room – plus experience showers, a Rasul mud chamber, sauna, steamroom, outdoor spa terrace and hot tub and foot spa.

The treatment menu has been curated in conjunction with organic marine skincare brand ishga, which harks from Scotland and incorporates native Hebridean seaweed into its products.

Guests will be able to receive signature rituals including a range of face and body treatments plus experience Ishga’s seaweed bath.

The Isle of Mull Hotel will also host a programme of spa and wellbeing packages incorporating nature-inspired and mindful activities.

To complete the wellness offering, the revamped destination will feature a collection of sea-fronted Spa Retreat Suites with a sea terrace and private outdoor hot tub.

Announcing the spa’s launch, Chris Wayne Wills, CEO of Crerar Hotels, said: “The Isle of Mull is a magical location when it comes to natural beauty and wellness. With our new development, island visitors can now look forward to enhancing their experience with stylish facilities, personalised organic treatments and a programme of specially curated spa and wellness activities.”

The grounds surrounding the hotel are also being developed, with a full remodelling and landscaping throughout the gardens right down to Craignure Bay.

The hotel will be adding a range of outdoor facilities including an ‘enchanted fairy walk’, sea deck dining, and external Wilderness Spa featuring a secluded hot tub and sauna due to open in July 2021.

The hotel’s public areas and guest rooms have also been refurbished with a new restaurant and bar being added to the venue’s offering.

A new external balcony adjacent to the restaurant will treat guests to panoramic views across Craignure Bay.
