Fitness First has entered into a strategic partnership with smart fitness technology specialist, EGYM, to launch “Able with Fitness First”, a personalised AI-driven training proposition.

The service, which is now available at the majority of Fitness First clubs, is an optimal mix of AI and the human element to help members achieve their goals. The service comprises four introductory sessions where members share goals and preferences and undertake a variety of cardiovascular, strength and body composition assessments.

This information is combined with input from Fitness First’s trainers and EGYM‘s AI-powered technology, EGYM Genius, to create a bespoke fitness training plan, via the Fitness First app, that evolves as customers’ progress. Feedback from early adopters has been extremely positive.

CEO, Justin Musgrove, says: “This unique offering is a first for the UK fitness industry, embodying our commitment to delivering exceptional service and supporting our members in achieving their personal best”

Philipp Roesch-Schlanderer, CEO, winner of the Rainer Schaller Award at FIBO 2025, EHFF, says: "This collaboration exemplifies our commitment to integrating advanced technology with personalised fitness experiences, empowering businesses to grow sustainably and members to achieve their health and wellness goals more effectively."

Since Musgrove took over as CEO of Fitness First UK in 2023, the company has been heading towards a more premium model, with a focus on driving up service standards and introducing other benefits, such as HealthHero and vitamin drips.
