Franchise chain Anytime Fitness plans to open more than 65 Gyms in the US state of Alabama within the next three years.

There are currently 31 Anytime Fitness gyms in the southeastern state, with developments planned for the Birmingham and Auburn area in the next 12 months. Other target areas include Huntsville, Mobile and Montgomery.

Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the gyms will be equipped with strength and cardio equipment, and offer personal training sessions and small group programmes.

“We're not looking to simply grow a franchise brand," said Chuck Runyon, Anytime Fitness co-founder and chief executive. "We're looking to grow and help individuals reach their specific goals and achieve a healthy, happy lifestyle.

“We're searching for local entrepreneurs who share our passion for building relationships and helping others so that we can achieve that vision in communities across the state.”

Anytime Fitness has more than 3,500 gyms serving nearly 3 million members worldwide.
