Former 'Rat Pack' hangout to be reborn as mixed-used town centre
The Hollywood casino and Racetrack in Los Angeles, once a popular spot for a who’s who of superstars and members of the Frank Sinatra-led Rat Pack, will form part of a new civic development.
Dubbed the hollywood park, the new 300-acre community hub will occupy 500,000sq ft of space adjacent to the soon-to-be-completed Los Angeles Stadium at Hollywood (LASED) in Inglewood, California.
The new campus will include several entertainment, retail, and leisure facilities, such an outdoor cinema, multiple restaurants, and public parks, as well as a 300-room luxury hotel, 2,5000 residences, and a 110,000 sq ft casino.
The project, which has been in the works for over a decade, is being developed by Wilson Meany and the Kroenke Group.
An interdisciplinary team of architects and designers – consisting of Hart Howerton, Architects Orange, Hall & Foreman, Inc., Studio MLA, RSM Design, bcv, SWA Group, and HKS – will help the companies to bring the ambitious development to life.
The first stage of the park is expected to be completed "in late 2020 or early 2021".
