From September, Summerfields Leisure Centre in Hastings will be offering guests the opportunity to take part in pole dancing classes.

Matt Hunt, area manager for Freedom Leisure in Hastings, the trust which operates the facility, said: "We are teaming up with Active Hastings to run pole-dancing classes at Summerfields Leisure Centre, which we think will prove irresistible to ladies who have perhaps resisted the urge to take part in traditional fitness classes.

"If you are interested in losing some inches and getting fit and active here's your chance to enjoy a completely different form of exercise, combining elements of dance, gymnastics and aerobics."

The initial beginners programme of two-hour sessions will run from 8 September for four weeks at a cost of £20 per person.

From 6 October, an intermediate class will be available for those who have completed the beginner class, and another beginner class will also begin.
