The Le Meridien brand has continued its Asia Pacific expansion with the launch of Le Méridien Shimei Bay Beach Resort and Spa in Wanning City on China’s Hainan Island.

Boasting views of the South China Sea, the spa is surrounded by forest, and covers 12,163sq ft (1,130sq m) and fuses European and Asian spa traditions, cultures and influences.

Facilities include two double suites with soaking tubs and shower facilities; two single indoor Thai massage rooms and two facial treatment rooms.

There are also six spa villas, each with an individual dipping pool as well as a separate spa cabana, a spa bistro, a hair salon, manicure and pedicure areas and an indoor aquatherapy area with a Vichy shower.
