Fylde sports village proposals dismissed
A planning application for a new sports village in Wrea Green, Lancashire, has been rejected by members of Fylde Borough Council's (FBC) development management committee.
The Greenlands Farm proposals comprised a football pavilion; a floodlit artificial pitch; four grass pitches; a hockey pavilion; a floodlit hockey pitch; and a stadium for AFC Fylde.
However, FBC said the proposed location of the complex "would detract from the intrinsic value of the countryside and represent unconvincing urbanisation of Wrea Green".
