Gloucester City to submit new stadium plans
Gloucester City Football Club (GCFC) has announced that it intends to submit plans for a new stadium at Meadow Park 'within the next two weeks'.
The new-build venue will be sited within the boundaries of the club's former Meadow Park home, which the club had to leave in 2007 due to severe flooding. However, GCFC spokesman Mike Dunstan said the Blue Square Bet North club now aims to secure a return to the city after a number of ground-shares in recent years.
Dunstan said: "There have, over the last few years, been many difficult times and hurdles for the Club but we have been resolute in our efforts to bring Gloucester City Football Club back home to Meadow Park." A public consultation event is to be held at Hempstead Village Hall on 22 February to allow residents to speak to club officials and view the proposals.
