Hampshire school poised for gym extension
Hamble Community Sports College in Hampshire will benefit from an extension of its gym facilities after the proposals were green lighted by Eastleigh Borough Council (EBC).
The local authority and British Gymnastics are funding the scheme, along with the Dynamo School of Gymnastics, which uses the college as its base.
A two-storey extension is to offer a enlarged vault run-off area and a separate tumbling area, which will be able to cater for pre-school children. Spectator seating is also proposed.
Work is expected to commence next month in order to ensure that new facilities at Hamble Community Sports College are completed ahead of the 2012 Games.
EBC leader Keith House said: "We have been proud to work with Dynamo School of Gymnastics to create their centre of excellence for gymnastics at Hamble."
