Heron International has acquired a portfolio of 13 sites from the British Land/Rank joint venture and has retained three - in Glasgow, Leicester and Southampton - for redevelopment.

In Glasgow, Heron intends expanding the existing 127,000sq ft centre known as the 'Quay' to provide an additional 74,500sq ft of leisure space. The company hopes to start development in the second half of this year for completion in June 2004. Letting agents will be Insignia Richard Ellis.

In Leicester, Heron plans to add a further 30,000sq ft of restaurant and nightclub space to the existing 87,500sq ft scheme. Joint letting agents will be Insignia Richard Ellis and Shelley Sandzer.

In Southampton, Heron is developing proposals for improvements to Leisure World.
