High ropes course set for Stevenage park
Fairlands Valley Park in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, is set to feature a new high ropes course under new proposals announced by the local authority.
Stevenage Borough Council said the project, which will feature a climbing wall, ladders and swings, is to be funded by local strategic partnership SoStevenage. It is planned that school and community groups will make use of the JM Adventure-designed facilities on weekdays, with public access available in the evenings, at weekends and on public holidays.
Stevenage School Partnership; the Extended Schools Consortia; Sport Stevenage; SBC; and Stevenage Leisure are all working on the scheme. SBC executive member for children and young people, culture, leisure and sport Howard Burnell said: "This new facility will help us to deliver our community strategy priorities of creating healthier lifestyles."
