IHRSA global report 2010
The health club industry posted a solid performance in 2009, according to the IHRSA 2010 Global Report, launched last month.
Global industry revenue reached US$67.2bn from a total of 128,500 health clubs and 119.5 million members.
With more than 42 million members, the market in Europe alone brought in an estimated US$31bn in revenue. In North America, 53.1 million members used 38,000 facilities. The Asia-Pacific region remained steady, with revenues of more than US$10bn and nearly 16 million members.
