ISPAL adopts important leisure library
George Torkildsen (1934-2005) remains one of the legendary figures in the leisure industry, with a major reputation both in the UK and abroad.
George was dedicated to professional management standards and he helped, directly and indirectly, many of today’s directors and managers.
His influence was huge, thanks to his writing, teaching and lecturing.
George Torkildsen will be best remembered as the author of Leisure and Recreation Management. First published in 1983, the book quickly became the standard text for everyone studying leisure management; it is now in its fifth edition.
ISPAL has adopted the George Torkildsen library, from George’s widow, Margaret. Through ISPAL’s Information Services, this essential and expert collection will in future be available to ISPAL members.
Please watch the ISPAL website www.ispal.org.uk for further details.
