ISPAL sector groups - Parks First
ISPAL is establishing new Sector Networks, to help develop policies and programmes for the key interests of members.
First off the blocks is our Parks Places and Open Spaces working group.
Last week three leading authorities from the sector - Ken McAnespie, Nick Reeves and Steve Smith - enjoyed a second meeting at ISPAL HQ, in the company of ISPAL chief executive Sue Sutton and head of policy Jane Strange, to discuss how best to take the parks agenda forward.
The group is preparing an Action Plan, to be finalised during the autumn.
Discussions last week included the development of a virtual network to involve all members with an interest in parks places and open spaces. This will provide members with a regular electronic newsletter focusing exclusively on parks and open spaces, plus news and views on all the latest developments in the sector, plus early warning of parks events across the UK – including advance notice of ISPAL’s national Parks & Countryside Seminar to be held in 2008.
As your professional body, we need to listen to your concerns and get your advice, and the new Sector Networks will be a vital part of that process. Do mail us at [email protected] with your ideas and suggestions…
