The FIA will host a national forum for independent operators at the LIW/FIA/FitPro Business conference on 27 September 2007.

The event will provide independent operators with a unique opportunity to meet and discuss the challenges and opportunities that exist for them in the current marketplace.

Discussion topics and presentations will focus on: the unique selling points of independent operator businesses; community engagement strategies; and accessing funding across a number of areas, such as training and qualifications.

To facilitate interactive debate, the event will incorporate a round table discussion session where independent operators can discuss the issues currently affecting their businesses.

Delegates will also be surveyed on the greatest challenges they feel their businesses currently face. Following the event, the results of the survey will be analysed and used to inform and develop the FIA’s independent operator strategy. Potential opportunities within, and solutions to, the most commonly identified challenges will also be researched.
