The fourth Spa Benchmark Report on Thailand from independent research company Intelligent Spas has been updated.
The updated report features an extensive collection of financial statistics including breakdowns of key performance indicators from day, hotel and resort spas.
According to the report, there are currently 743 spas operating in Thailand that were expected to generate THB9.1bn (US$275m, E190.9m, £171.8m) in revenue during 2009.
Key findings include the breakdown of day versus destination spas - a total of 46 per cent of spas included in the report were classified as day spas, with the other 54 per cent being destination spas, including hotel, resort and retreat spas offering overnight accommodation.
