The ‘Creating Atmospheres’ pavilion at the upcoming trade fair Interbad, set to take place 27 - 30 September in Stuttgart, Germany, aims to show how to create the ‘right’ environment for all the senses.

The pavilion will include architecture, green areas, lighting and acoustics, and is developed in co-operation with the Association of German Interior designers (BDIA), the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of architects and the interior design firm Schienbein + Pier.

The pavilion was held for the first time at the last Interbad trade show in 2014, and the response to the first edition was “exceptional,” said René Pier, chair of the BDIA Baden-Württemberg and co-owner of Schienbein + Pier. “This is why there is a significant increase in the area in 2016.”

The area is designed as a free experience, and includes sauna facilities, an outdoor pool, awning and loungers.

“A story is told which incidentally also provides information about the products on display,” said Pier.

Sauna manufacturer Klafs will provide the sauna facilities, and the Waiblingen garden designer Michael Kupka is responsible for the planning and fixtures and fittings, as well as the pool and diving pool.

Daily programmes with presentations and guided tours targeted to different groups are available; Tuesday, 27 September is geared towards hoteliers; Wednesday, 28 September to sanitary, heating and air-conditioning companies; Thursday 29 September to architects and planners; and Friday 30 September to private developers and contractors.

Pier will also provide an insight into digital networking in the spa area and explain how digital technology can “contribute to a feeling of comfort,” he said.

“The interesting thing is the crossover between what a designer creates and what nature generates,” said Pier. “This synergy is one of the main themes in the spa area – an important international trend: to retain nature and naturalness, while at the same time to stage them in such a way as to raise an awareness of their value.”
