International Dermal Institute hits 20th birthday

The International Dermal Institute (IDI) has celebrated its 20th anniversary.

The postgraduate school of skincare and body therapy, affiliated to skincare company Dermalogica, was founded in 1983. The institute marked the anniversary with a celebration evening on 1 September at its Leatherhead, Derby and Dublin location.

“When the institute opened its doors, it was referred to as a ‘beauty school’ and the students were ‘beauticians’,” says IDI spokesperson Wendy Kurland. “But wellness and health, not beauty, are what IDI is really about.

Continual upgrading of the institute’s curriculum introduces the newest and most relevant material relating to every aspect of our profession, from effectively treating skin conditions to building client loyalty.”
