Italy reviews slope safety
Italy's ski resorts may have segregated pistes after a skier was killed in collision with a snowboarder, according to a report in The Guardian.
The authorities said they were considering having segregated pistes for skiers and snowboarders after a 36-year-old skier was killed after was killed in an accident at the Alpine resort of Cortina d'Ampezzo.
Mario Pescante, undersecretary for sport, said he would be meeting officials from Italy's Alpine ski resorts to discuss new nationwide regulations, including making it obligatory for under-14-year-olds to wearing helmets and separating children from adults on pistes.
