Jack Shakespeare, UK Active's director of research, policy and communications, is leaving the organisation to join UK-based data, services and software company 4Global as its director of strategic projects.

Shakespeare has spent more than six years at UK Active and joins 4Global at a time of significant national and worldwide growth for the company, which is in the midst of a rapid expansion into new territories and markets, including continental Europe and North America.

He will oversee the delivery of all consultancy-led projects, leading 4Global's team of consultants and engaging directly with clients and stakeholders from across the industry.

His role will also include being responsible for continuing key strategic partnership with sports bodies and health bodies, working on major national projects to evaluate social value, as well as continue the expansion of the company’s European DataHub project in association with EuropeActive.

Shakespeare said: “4Global plays a vital role in making sure accessible and inclusive sport and fitness are at the heart of our communities.

"As data about sport and fitness becomes ever more readily available and shareable, its work truly has the power to transform our sector.

“I’m looking forward to helping the company build on its formidable track record in this area, working closely with health and fitness operators, and the world’s leading sport and fitness governing bodies to ensure they can reach and inspire even more people to lead happier and healthier lives.”

Shakespeare will join 4Global in June.
