Juala garden spa to open at Hyatt Doha
Juala Spa will open this June at the new Grand Hyatt Doha in the West Bay Lagoon district of Qatar.
The name of the Hyatt Pure Spa means Arabic for ‘journey’, representing its concept of offering guests customised spa journeys aimed at renewing their physical and spiritual well being.
Set in an elegant garden, the 1,650sq m (17,760sq ft) wellness facility will feature 12 self-contained treatment suites assigned separately for ladies, gentlemen and couples, as well as relaxation areas.
There will also be a sauna, a steamroom and an inhalation, infrared room, complemented by a cold plunge pool and a spa pool.
Juala Spa will overlook the hotel’s three outdoor swimming pools and private 400-metre beach.
Signature treatments using Anne Semonin and Aromatherapy Associates products will include the Arabic-inspired rose petal foot bath and the desert sand scrub. Wedding treatments will include the three-hour Spa Princess Body Ritual and the six-hour personalised Ultimate Bridal Journey of Anne Semonin.
The spa is targeted at both local residents and expatriates living in Doha, as well as those using the hotel as a destination for business or leisure.
Spa director M. Karunanithi, who has more than 20 years of experience at Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, said: “Spas are fast becoming a must-have. Today people are aware of the importance of both physical and mental well being and they are adopting healthy lifestyles both at home and away.
“Hyatt Pure Spas around the world strive to create a warm, cosy, culturally appropriate approach to the spa experience in an environment that is tranquil and stress free for our guests.
“The introduction of Jaula Spa will meet the Hyatt Pure vision and offer every guest not just a visit but the creation of a relationship.”
The 249 bedrooms and 91 private residences of the Grand Hyatt Doha will also be serviced by one indoor swimming pool and a fitness facility, as well as three restaurants — the Grill, Isaan, Rocca and Biscotti — and two bars.
Business guests will have access to a 23,000sq ft (2,200sq m) function space and a large conference centre equipped with a 16,000sq ft (1,500sq m) ballroom.
“As one of the world’s top three energy centres, Doha has quickly become a major global business destination, making it a natural fit for the scale and style of Grand Hyatt.
“The hotel and residences will provide both local and visiting guests with many firsts, from personalised service to luxurious accommodation,” said Peter Fulton, managing director of Hyatt Hotels & Resorts — South West Asia.
