From 16 December until 24 December the gym facilities at K2 Crawley will be closed for a £300,000 refurbishment.

The improvements to the gym facilities are being jointly funded by Freedom Leisure and Crawley Borough Council, and will provide customers with a range of kit and a fresh and invigorating space to exercise in.

The refurbished K2 Crawley gym will include new weights and cardio vascular equipment. Brand new to the centre are the extremely popular Power Plates, used by celebrities and sports professionals alike to provide a different and very effective work out.

The exciting addition of a new Spin studio and bikes, will offer more places in the extremely popular Spin class and with whole area receiving a full makeover customers should notice a more revitalised and inviting atmosphere; all in time for the New Year.

The recently IFI Award (Inclusive Fitness Initiative) accredited facilities at this flag-ship Freedom Leisure site will be further improved by this investment and the team at the centre hope new equipment will encourage customers of all abilities to participate in physical activity on a more regular basis.

Chris Lovelock, Centre Manager at K2 Crawley said, "This £300,000 refurbishment to the facilities at K2 Crawley will be a massive boost for our customers and the Freedom Leisure team. The investment being made by Freedom Leisure and Crawley Borough Council will definitely benefit the centres customers and we hope that the new equipment and brand new look will help motivate gym users in the New Year."

Councillor Lenny Walker, Cabinet member for Leisure and Culture Services, said: "K2 Crawley has recently celebrated its fifth birthday and in that time it has become more and more popular. This investment in new gym equipment will ensure even more people can use the fantastic facilities at the leisure centre and is another example of how partnership working can deliver better services for taxpayers."
