North Ayrshire charitable trust, KA Leisure, has launched a new programme to offer preventative healthcare to its community at an affordable price.

The Well and Good membership sets out to provide personalised support tailored for individual wellness journeys. The first part of the programme to launch is the Boost subscription that offers members comprehensive health checks to evaluate metrics such as BMI, body composition and blood pressure.

AI-driven insights will be backed with human expertise to provide a tailored fitness plan, including nutrition advice and mental wellness support. Users will have access to an app to support their wellness journey.

There will also be perks to the membership such as educational seminars and webinars.

CEO, Malcolm McPhail, says this is a promise to improve the lives of the community: “With the launch of Well and Good, we’re doubling down on our commitment to support the people of North Ayrshire through affordable, innovative and holistic solutions.

“By offering our members comprehensive health checks to understand key metrics like BMI, body composition, blood pressure and cholesterol and personalised support that blends human expertise with the power of AI, and a cutting-edge app that puts wellness directly in their hands, we’re helping individuals take meaningful steps towards prioritising their health like never before.”

The programme is initially being launched as a loyalty promotion to the longest serving members, before opening up to all members and then new members.

An early bird Boost subscription costs £11.92 a month – in addition to a KA Leisure membership. Subscribers will get four health checks a year, the first costs £25 and the rest are included.

KA Leisure’s sales director, Jim Semple, says: “With NHS and GP services at breaking point, we will utilise existing leisure facilities and qualified staff to act as wellbeing hubs. This isn’t an upgraded gym membership or another weight management style programme, this is an innovative platform devoted to changing lives for the better.”

The move follows operators such as Fitness First, Parkwood and Everyone Active launching telehealth memberships in partnership with Health Hero.
