Kelly Simmons, the football Association’s (FA) director of participation and development, will discuss the body’s grassroots football strategy during the month’s Soccerex conference in Manchester.

Simmons has oversight of youth football, grassroots and the semi-professional game. With a big hand in the FA’s National Game Strategy, she will give insight into what has been achieved a year after its launch, and how the blueprint will progress over the next three years.

The former head of football development will talk about the governing body’s £260m (US$345.9m, €308.2m) investment, and how the funding will work in relation to facilities, coaching, participation and developing the football workforce.

Progress on the FA’s big push to increase female youth participation – with a desired 11 per cent surge – will also be revealed.

This year’s Soccerex will take place between 26 and 29 September.
