Knights Leisure today announced the closure of Camelot theme park.
The theme park and its management have been members of BALPPA for over 20 years and Mark Leader, a director of the company, informed BALPPA early today that Camelot would not reopen in 2013.
"Whilst we have become used to the inclement summer weather in the UK during the past few years, a combination of the wettest summer for 100 years, the Queens Jubilee Celebrations followed by the spectacular television coverage of the Olympic Games during our busiest months of the year had a major impact on visitors to the park."
Mark Leader has advised BALPPA that all of the equipment that is owned by Knights Leisure will be put up for sale with immediate effect.
