Leisure Industry Week (LIW) has commissioned Leisure-net Solutions to compile a new market intelligence report exploring the UK's outdoor fitness sector.
Research questions will be targeted at consumer and trade representatives in order to gauge the growth and potential of the market, as well as the motivations of participants.
Three leading industry operators will also be represented with in-depth case studies as part of the report, which will examine business practices and successes of those companies.
The findings of the study will be outlined as part of the Education Village programme at the annual LIW show at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre in mid-September.
LIW event manager David Sanvoisin said: "It's important that LIW works with the industry to glean new trends and share them with our visitors.
"Outdoor fitness represents a growing business opportunity for the leisure community and is therefore an area which we're pleased to focus on."
Mike Hill of Leisure-net Solutions added: "The research will look at the size and growth of the market as well as the underlying consumer motivations which are driving it."
Visitors will also be able to download the report following the event.
