LOCOG passes £700m sponsorship mark
London 2012 organisers have confirmed that Westfield has been signed up as the latest tier three sponsor of next summer's Games, with £700m worth of domestic deals now in place.
The announcement ensures that the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) has now met its target for domestic sponsorship. It comes ahead of the opening of Westfield's new 1.9 million sq ft (176,516sq m) Stratford City retail and leisure scheme on 13 September - Europe's largest urban shopping centre.
LOCOG CEO Paul Deighton said: "Alongside the Olympic Park, Westfield Stratford City is a tangible example of how east London is at the start of an exciting new journey."
