Landry's acquires Trump resort in Atlantic City
Hospitality giant Landry's has acquired the Trump Marina Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City for an undisclosed sum.
Landry's plans to redevelop the property and rebrand it as a Golden Nugget resort destination.
As part of the revamp, the casino resort will boast a new luxury spa. Exact details are to be confirmed but facilities will include a H2O Pool and Lounge, featuring "all season hot tubs and fire pits".
Tilman Fertitta, CEO and owner of Landry's, said: "Our plan is to transform the Trump Marina into a luxurious and exciting hotel and casino with the highest level of service.
"All improvements are expected to be completed by the end of this year."
Landry's currently operates more than 300 restaurant and hotel locations, including its upscale dining Signature Group with restaurants such as Vic and Anthony's Steakhouse, Grotto Italian Ristorante and Oceanaire Seafood Room as well as Landry's Seafood House and Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.
The group's resort developments include Downtown Aquarium complexes in Houston and Denver; the themed Kemah Boardwalk entertainment destination; and the Golden Nugget hotel-casino properties in Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nevada.
