Leicester cricket ground agreement secured
Leicester City Council (LCC) has agreed to relax the covenant on the city's cricket ground at Grace Road in a bid to support Leicestershire County Cricket Club.
It is hoped that the Deed of Variation will enable the club to provide "tangible security" to bankers with regards to capital facilities needed in its bid to recover from last year's losses. LCC strategic director of development, culture and regeneration Alistair Reid said: ""Sport is massively important to the people in the city of Leicester and we are pleased to do our bit to aid the recovery of the club."
