Raison d’Etre’s LivNordic spa has officially opened a 1,000sq m location on the 6th floor of Dubai’s twisting Cayan Tower after a soft opening earlier this year. This marks the first location in the Middle East for the brand, and includes traditional Nordic elements of minimalist design and Nordic bathing rituals.

“The Nordic concept is new to the Middle East, and I’m very excited to share our health traditions that have been part of our life for generations,” said Carolina Moquist, senior manager, spa and wellness for Cayan Hospitality.

The spa includes separate male and female Nordic bathing ritual areas, which include a series of saunas and cold plunge pools, as well as six treatment rooms, a relaxation area with Nordic blankets and wood fire elements, and a 200sq m terrace with panoramic views of the Dubai Marina, where yoga and other fitness classes are held during cooler months.

The spa menu includes simplified options for massage that include stilla (calm), ren (clean) or djup (deep), as well as facials, hand, foot and hair treatments. Personal training and fitness classes are also available. The spa is using Hydropeptide and Organic Pharmacy for product houses, along with hair products from Rahua.

An organic spa cafe will open in the coming months, and will include healthy spa lunches, juices and Swedish fica, or coffee breaks.

Cayan Tower is a residential location, and the spa is open to both residents and guests. It also offers annual, six-month and three-month memberships, which include access to the Nordic bathing rituals, fitness sessions, arrival tea or coffee, discounts at the cafe and retail, and a select number of complimentary treatments.

“Dubai is a cosmopolitan city and the perfect fit for LivNordic as the people in this city love taking care of themselves and keeping up with fitness and wellness trends,” said Anna-Cari Gund, managing director of Raison d’Etre.

LivNordic launched last year on Viking Cruises, and has upcoming openings scheduled in Katara Beach Club in Qatar, The Capra in Switzerland and a second Viking Cruise.
