Live modelling for Baltic Centre
Sculptor Antony Gormley is casting 240 Geordies, aged between five and 95, in plaster for one of the largest exhibitions in Britain.
Gormley is to use the casts to create a 'sparkling myriad of stainless steel elements' - a series of body shapes for a project to be called Domain Field. Later this Spring they will line 800 metres of a gallery in the Baltic Centre in Gateshead.
Candidates for the exhibition are being covered in plastic film, draped in cloth and plastered. Details: www.balticmill.com
