Local authority publishes Kettering proposals
Kettering Borough Council (KBC) has unveiled the final draft of its area action plan (AAP) for the future redevelopment of the Northamptonshire town, which will be put to consultation.
The document has been drawn up in order to guide schemes and proposes a "comprehensive" overhaul of the town centre to increase job opportunities, as well as facilitate economic growth. Improved leisure and retail offers and enhanced access have been identified by the document as being necessary to providing a "step change" in what the town offers, with Kettering one of the fastest growing areas in the UK.
KBC regeneration programme manager Paul Thomas said: "The area action plan will help Kettering Borough Council and its partners deliver their ambitious proposals for regenerating Kettering town centre and reinforce its role as the main shopping destination in North Northants."
