Local authority to discuss Eastleigh leisure centre revamp plans
Members of Eastleigh Borough Council (EBC) are to discuss plans for the refurbishment and modernisation of the Hampshire town's Fleming Park Leisure Centre on 17 July.
The facility is operated on behalf of the council by DC Leisure Management and currently attracts more than 1.2 million visits a year - including 257,000 swims.
However, it is more than 35 years old and EBC's cabinet will be asked to approve an audit of its facilities in conjunction with the development of options and costs for improvements.
EBC leader Keith House said: "Our aim would be to re-launch a new-look Fleming Park, within four years, ready for the 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil."
