Lodge development for Tasman Peninsula
Baillie Lodges – a company set up by husband and wife James and Hayley Baillie to provide premium experiential travel – plans to develop a property on the Tasman Peninsula.
Called Remarkable Lodge and currently in the pre-planning stage, the resort and spa will be located near the Australian historical site of Port Arthur and will open in early 2009.
The Tasmanian property follows news of the completion of Baillie Lodges’ flagship site on Australia’s Kangaroo Island.
Called Southern Ocean Lodge, the luxury hotel and spa will be set on a dramatic clifftop location on the island, which is dubbed the Australian Galagpagos and has a total of 21 national and conservation parks.
The Spa Retreat at the lodge will offer a range of traditional and contemporary therapies, including a three-hour signature Dreaming treatment. There will be three treatment rooms, a relaxation room and a steamroom.
The island where the lodge will be situated was discovered by English explorer Matthew Flinders more than 200 years ago. (See Spa Business 08/2 p17. To order, visit www.spabusiness.com)
