London Town Hotels (LTH) is to relaunch the Country Inns & Suites Kensington hotel in London as the Quality Crown Hotel Kensington in September, following a £1.5m refurbishment.

The property is to be completely redesigned by an in-house team in the style of the company’s Quality Crown Hotel Paddington, which opened a year ago.

Matthew Brooks, director of marketing and revenue, said: “In Paddington we made a bold statement about the importance of design and style and have shown that good design is not the exclusive preserve of the five-star market.

“In Kensington we have created an affordable modern hotel, with minimalist interiors and the emphasis very much on comfort, service and 21st century technology.

“Its fashionable bedrooms will have signature walls of burgundy or blue on one wall, oversized headboards, fluffy white duvets and luxurious throws, plus state-of-the-art technology, including touch-sensitive lighting and the Genesis audio visual package.”

The company is also set to change the name of its other property in Paddington, the Quality Hotel Paddington, to the Quality Crown Hotel Hyde Park.

The company will subsequently operate five hotels in central London comprising three Quality Crown Hotels – Hyde Park, Kensington and Paddington – and two Comfort Hotels – in Notting Hill and Bayswater.

The brands are franchised from Choice Hotels International.

London Town Hotels is also in the process of negotiating a deal for its first two properties outside of London.

"As its development progress to date shows, London Town Hotels is committed to continued strong growth in London, as well as elswhere around the UK," said Brooks. Details: www.lth-hotels.com
