MCC plans GBP1.44m youth cricket investment

Youth cricket is to benefit from GBP1.44m worth of investment from Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) during 2012 as part of a wider funding package committed by the organisation.

Since 2007, the MCC has pledged to spend GBP8.4m on schemes such as Young Cricketers or MCC Universities either directly or through its foundations.

Over the coming 12 months, GBP555,000 will be invested in university teams and GBP225,000 on overseas tours. A further GBP175,000 will go towards Spirit of Cricket activities.
