ME London opening date pushed back to September

ME by Meliá, the "experienced-based" hotel brand owned by Meliá Hotels International, is to open its latest property near Covent Garden, London, UK, next month (September).
The 157-bedroom ME London - housed within Marconi House, the former headquarters of BBC Radio - is designed by Foster + Partners and is the brand's fifth location worldwide.
It had been initially proposed that the hotel would open ahead of the London 2012 Olympics, with its interior boasting a pyramidal atrium following the building's triangular floor pattern.
ME by Meliá has now confirmed that it is preparing the final details for its September launch, with facilities including a fitness centre and The One Group-operated STK steakhouse.
The Marconi Bar and the rooftop Radio Bar also form part of ME London, which joins other ME properties in the Spanish cities of Madrid and Barcelona and Cabo and Cancun, Mexico.
Meliá Hotels International vice chair and CEO Gabriel Escarrer said: "The opening of this hotel after the Olympics will represent a fundamental step forward in our globalisation process and also make a major contribution to the London luxury hotel scene."
