Southend-on-Sea Borough Council (SBC) has approved proposals for the development of new leisure facilities and a 100-bedroom hotel at Garon Park.
The Garon Park Development Brief was given the green light from the council's cabinet in January before being ratified by full council. Plans for Garon Park include the provision of areas for additional sports facilities; six six-a-side courts; a 3G adult soccer pitch; and a football and cricket centre.
Temporary sports facilities and the relocation of Kids' Kingdom and a sports manufacturer head office have also been earmarked for the Garon Park site.
