New martial arts programme for Leisure Connection
Leisure Connection (LC) has launched a fitness and healthy-living programme for five to 16-year-olds in an effort to encourage more young people to get active.
The Harpers Strike programme, developed in association with Danny Ball and Liam Richards –a marital arts duo first seen on ITV’s ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ show – offers structured martial arts training and pre-choreographed routines suitable for every ability. Divided into three classes for five to seven-year-olds, eight to 11-year-olds and 12 to 16-year-olds, the programme also offers guidance on how to eat and live healthily.
The programme currently operates at nine of LC's Harpers-branded clubs including the Willesden Sports Centre (London), Riverside Swimming Centre (Norwich), Parklands Leisure Centre (Leicester), Okehampton Leisure Centre (Devon), Blackwater Leisure Centre (Maldon, Essex) and Harpers health and fitness at Wyboston (Bedfordshire). LC plans to roll out the programme at all of its sites by Easter.
