New netball strategy for Haringey
Haringey Council has launched a new netball development plan, which is designed to boost the sport and raise standards over the next three years across the north London borough.
The document outlines a number of targets, including the recruitment of 1,200 more people aged between 15 and 54-years-old to participate in netball. Other aims include the provision of at least one term of netball coaching in 15 schools and the appointment of new coaches, volunteers and officials.
Haringey Council cabinet member for adults and community services Dilek Dogus said: "[Netball] has a large role to play in encouraging women and girls to become more active and enjoy the many benefits of playing sport."
