New public square to be created in Luton
A new public square is to be created outside Luton Town Hall under plans for an £800,000 regeneration scheme due to commence in mid-March.
Street furniture and seating areas will be installed as part of the project, which is designed to complement improvements to St George's Square a few years ago. Roy Davis, Luton Borough Council's portfolio holder for regeneration, said: "The Council initially wanted to enhance the Town Hall Square at the same time as our award-winning regeneration of St George's Square two years ago.
"Then it was decided to wait until the £20m extension to The Mall had been completed first."
